Want to start 2019 off on the right foot? Here are a few New Year’s Resolutions to get you started!
Breathe new life into your workspace. Take a step back and look at your work area – an area where you spend multiple hours per week. Are things cluttered? Is the workflow awkward? An unorganized space can contribute to your health, mood and productivity. Clean it up, freshen it up, and make a new start!
Dial Down the Social Media. We all sneak that peak at our news feed to see what it going on in the world, but we know that a quick peak can turn into 20 minutes if we get sucked down that rabbit hole! Know your limits, set aside a certain time of the day to check it out or better yet, take the apps off your phone.
Establish a company weight loss or fitness program. Having a buddy to keep you accountable in your new health goal is a must. Why not do it in the workplace? Create a fun competition by offering prizes for key milestones. An employee who is focused on good health will feel better physically, mentally and emotionally – which, in turn, will make them more productive.
Learn a new skill. Start the new year by doing something you have always wanted to do. Sign up for lessons or take a class. Set aside time to challenge yourself.
Take a walk during the day. Don’t use the excuse that you are too busy to take a break. A short walk can do wonders for your mind. Walking gets the blood pumping and helps to ground nervous energy. Even a change of scenery can spark creativity.
Kickstart a new workplace tradition. Building team rapport is essential. Schedule a monthly lunch or contest. Creating relationships and focusing on the people is a great way to build a team. Work will become easier and esteem will be greater.
